November 2026

November is the month that asks you to be cozy and a little haunted at the same time, and nobody understood that better than Lee McQueen. I come back to his Fall 2006 show, “Widows of Culloden,” every year once the light starts going gold and then gone by 4:30. This look is the one I can’t shake. It’s an ivory lace gown that cascades into tiers of ruffles, worn with a veil of lace and tulle stretched over a pair of antlers. She looks like a bride and a ghost at once, walking out of a Scottish forest at dusk. That’s November to me. It’s a month of gathering and gratitude, but also of looking back at where we came from and who isn’t at the table anymore. It’s romantic, a little dark, and deeply beautiful.
